The long-awaited Terminal 3 at Da Nang International Airport is now fully operational, marking a significant milestone in central Vietnam's aviation infrastructure development. For flight operators and ground handling service providers, the new terminal introduces important changes to operational procedures that require careful attention.
Terminal 3 at a Glance
Designed to handle up to 15 million passengers annually, Terminal 3 adds substantial capacity to Da Nang International Airport, which has consistently ranked among Vietnam's fastest-growing aviation hubs. The terminal features modern passenger processing facilities, expanded aircraft parking positions, and dedicated areas for both domestic and international operations.
The architectural design draws inspiration from Da Nang's coastal identity, with flowing lines and natural lighting that create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining efficient passenger flow. The terminal is equipped with the latest in baggage handling systems, security screening technology, and passenger amenities.
Operational Changes for Flight Operators
With Terminal 3 now operational, parking bay allocation at Da Nang International Airport has been reorganized. International flights are now primarily assigned to Terminal 3 bays, while Terminal 2 handles a mix of domestic and select international operations. Operators must verify their assigned terminal and bay during the slot confirmation process to ensure ground handling resources are positioned correctly.
CIQ processing procedures have also been updated. The new terminal features expanded immigration counters and enhanced customs inspection facilities, which should reduce processing times for both crew and passengers. However, operators should still plan for standard CIQ clearance timelines and coordinate with ground handlers to ensure smooth transitions.
Ground Handling Coordination
T&T Aviation maintains a fully equipped ground handling station at Da Nang International Airport with personnel trained on all three terminal configurations. Our team can coordinate seamless operations regardless of terminal assignment, ensuring that all ground support equipment, crew transportation, and passenger services are precisely aligned with your flight's operational requirements.
