Long Thanh airport project moves ahead of schedule
Key structural construction for the third component of phase one is anticipated to complete by late 2025, with trial operations slated for August 2026, according to the Government news site.
Steel framing, brick walls, and roof supports have been rapidly constructed, and terminal equipment is now in production.
About 30% of the project's total contract value has been completed. This month, contractors are working on roof finishing and glass wall installation.
Runway, taxiway, and apron work has also advanced, with technical operations set to begin on April 30, 2025, three months ahead of plan.
Supporting infrastructure is scheduled to be completed by late 2025. Route 1 is planned to be completed by November, while the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau and HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway interchanges are scheduled for completion in August and October, respectively.
Other components, such as the passenger terminal's aircraft apron, have moved to the contracting and preliminary construction stages. Cargo Terminal 1 and other projects are finalizing technical designs prior to contractor selection. The airport's instrument landing system (ILS/DME) equipment has arrived and is slated to be installed in December.
