Long Thanh International Airport to Receive Its First Flight on December 19
On December 19, Long Thanh Airport will receive its inaugural flight from Hanoi. The aircraft will taxi into the completed terminal via a jet bridge, marking the completion of the project’s first operational phase.

First flight scheduled for December 19

“On December 19, coinciding with the inauguration of multiple major infrastructure projects across the country, Long Thanh Airport will welcome its first flight from Hanoi into its completed terminal via jet bridge, marking the ceremonial launch of the first operational stage,” the ACV Deputy General Director stated.

ACV also proposed enhancing safety and aesthetics by constructing a service road linking the highway to access route T1, which currently lacks a frontage service road. Đồng Nai Province is urged to complete the road soon. Additionally, Đồng Nai is expected to supply about 500,000 m³ of fill material for runway construction and to accelerate repairs on the Đồng Nai Bridge and the Tân Vạn interchange, ensuring smooth movement of materials and personnel in support of airport construction.

“In general, the Long Thanh International Airport project is on track as directed by the Government and the Prime Minister,” Mr. Việt affirmed.

In closing, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính instructed that to ensure basic completion of the airport in 2025, the Ministry of Finance must coordinate with ACV and other agencies to comprehensively review the project schedule. They should add manpower, equipment, and construction crews; implement 3-shift, 4-team work schedules to recover delays; strictly monitor quality and safety; and organize construction scientifically and efficiently.

Currently, most national expressway corridors—both north–south and east–west—are either completed or under construction, with expected completion by 2025–2026. To maximize investment benefits and connect economic centers, rail stations, ports, and airports conveniently for businesses and citizens, the Ministry of Construction and localities are reviewing the transportation network to ensure efficient connectivity between highways and key economic zones.
